Baked Pears Recipe

Simple and elegant, a pair of pears baking in a dish with a hint of ginger and honey. Fragrant lavender flowers are optional.

  • Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • Peel the skin from the pears.
    4 pears
  • Remove the bottom core of pears and cut the pears so that they are flat on the bottom and stand straight up.
  • Place the pears in a deep baking dish and drizzle with ghee and honey. Sprinkle with ginger and lavender flowers, then cover the dish with parchment paper. Create slits in the paper to allow air to escape.
    2 tbsp. honey, 3 tbsp. ghee, 1 tsp. ground ginger, ½ tsp. lavender flowers
  • Cook for about 1 hour, basting the pears with the sauce a few times.
  • Prior to serving, baste pears again with excess sauce.
