Slow Cooker Cuban-Style Beef Recipe

  • Season the beef to taste with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
    2 lb. beef chuck roast or flank steak, Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Melt cooking fat in a skillet over high heat, and brown the beef on all sides, 3 to 4 minutes total.

  • Place the beef in a slow cooker and add all the remaining ingredients on top.
    4 garlic cloves, 2 cups tomato sauce, 2 bell peppers, 1 onion, 1 green chili, 2 tbsp. tomato paste, 1 tbsp. ground cumin, 1 cup beef stock
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Remove the beef from the slow cooker, let rest for 10 to 15 minutes, then shred using forks.
  • Place the beef back in the slow cooker, mix everything and serve topped with fresh cilantro.
