    Liver and Onions

Liver and onions isn't just a dish; it's a repository of stories and memories. Shared around communal tables, the dish has symbolized warmth, sustenance, and an unpretentious joy of eating. Each culture that has adopted liver and onions into its culinary repertoire has added its unique seasoning to the tale, making it a truly global gastronomic encounter.

Unlock the secrets of seasoning and discover pairings that lend a contemporary edge to the classic combination. Whether paired with the bite of Horseradish or the mild sweetness of a Baked Apple, liver and onions adapt to diverse palates with an uncanny grace, offering a feast for the taste buds that's as exciting as it is nutritious.

    Ingredients

Serves: 4 Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 25 minutes

    • 4 large slices pork or beef liver
    • 5 large onions, sliced
    • 6 tablespoon cooking fat
    • Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Liver and Onions

Heat a large skillet over medium-low heat and add 5 tablespoon of the cooking fat and the sliced onions. Cook slowly, stirring often, for about 20 to 25 minutes, until the onions are really soft and caramelized.

Near the end of the cooking process of the onions, heat another pan over a medium-high heat and cook the liver with the rest of the cooking fat, about 3 minutes on each side.

Serve the liver topped with the delicious and creamy cooked onions. This is also delicious served with some homemade salsa on the side.
