Whether you’re preparing for a sophisticated dinner party or just looking for a treat to brighten a family meal, the indulgence of tender scallops ensconced in crispy, savory bacon is certain to leave a lasting impression.
Served alongside Sautéed Broccolini or Slow Cooked Garlic Artichokes, this would be an amazing meal.

How to Make Bacon Wrapped Scallops
Preheat your oven broiler.
Heat a frying pan and slightly cook the bacon so it’s still quite soft and flexible.
Remove the bacon from the heat, pat it dry and cut each slice in half crosswise.
Wrap each bacon half around a scallop, secure it with a toothpick and season to taste with freshly ground black pepper.
Place the wrapped scallops on a rack set over a pan or rimmed baking sheet and place at about 5 inches under the preheated broiler for about 10 minutes, until cooked through, turning them often to cook everything evenly.
Place the appetizers in a serving plate and sprinkle the lemon zest on top.
