    Spicy Plantain Chips

In recent years, plantain chips have emerged beyond their traditional boundaries, captivating the taste buds of the health-conscious. Now emerging as the "it" snack, homemade spicy plantain chips are finding popularity not just for their rich cultural uniqueness but also for their versatility in accommodating various dietary choices.

These chips are perfect served with Shrimp and Fruity Salsa or a Melon Salsa for a wildly fun dipping-time.

    Ingredients

Serves: 4 Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes

    • 2 green plantains
    • 2 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
    • 1 teaspoon chili powder
    • ½ teaspoon cumin
    • â…› teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • Sea salt to taste

How to Make Spicy Plantain Chips

Preheat your oven to 400 F.

Remove the skin from the plantains with a knife and slice them thinly.

Mix the plantain slices in a bowl with the melted coconut oil, chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper and sea salt to taste.

Place the slices on a baking sheet and place in the preheated oven to cook for about 15 minutes, turning them after 8 minutes. Make sure that you keep an eye on them near the end as they can burn rapidly.
