    Tuna Salad

    While new food trends continually emerge, there is a timeless appeal to classic dishes that transcends their period of creation. Classic tuna salad is deceiving in its simplicity. The synergistic blend of ingredients comprises canned tuna, mayonnaise, and often celery, red onion, and capers, providing a pleasing mix of textures and flavors. Each ingredient contributes to the overall nutritional profile, with tuna anchoring the dish as a source of lean protein and omega-3 fatty acids.

    To create a balanced meal, consider serving it with Simple Fruit Salad or a fun Fresh Summer Salad.

    Ingredients

    Serves: 2 Prep Time: 7 minutes

    • 2 cans (12 oz) tuna, drained and flaked
    • 3 teaspoon homemade mayonnaise
    • 2 teaspoon pickle relish (naturally fermented)
    • 2 teaspoon mustard
    • 2 celery stalks, chopped
    • ½ cup onion, chopped
    • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

    How to Make Tuna Salad

    Simply mix and combine everything together in a bowl, adjusting the texture and taste with more or less mustard and mayonnaise. Season with black pepper only, the canned tuna being salted already.

    And then you're ready to serve!
