Sometimes, let's face it, the only thing that will do for breakfast is a nice, warm, thick slice of banana bread - bacon and eggs can take a day off!

Banana bread recipe on wooden desk

Not only does banana bread inspire us to get out of bed in the morning, along with a steaming mug of coffee or herbal tea, but it may also brighten our entire outlook on the day.

Now that is a pretty powerful slice of Paleo bread!

To be healthy in mind, body and spirit are, in part, to find balance in the ingredients we are consuming. Naturally, we will be wanting to avoid refined sugars, and you'll be happy to know that you'll find none of that here.

The only sweetener in this recipe is the bananas themselves. One word of advice, choose very ripe bananas for your bread. If they are gaining black spots, or are more black than yellow, you are on the right track. Not only are they easier to mash, but the flavor is also superior too.

Of course, it may all be a matter of opinion. Try it and find out; it never hurts to bake two loaves!

If you've never tried baking with almond flour or almond butter before, this is a wonderful recipe to trial-bake and share with family and friends. Everyone is sure to love it. Don't be surprised if they ask for more!
