    Mustard and Chili Omelet

This spicy twist to the classic omelet is perfect for foodies and health enthusiasts alike, offering a flavorful yet nutritious start to your day. Beyond being flavor powerhouses, both mustard and chili offer up a range of vitamins, minerals, and other healthful compounds. When you combine these two ingredients with eggs, nature's near-perfect protein, you get a breakfast that offers a healthy start to your day, helping you maintain energy levels, build muscle, and even lose weight.

Pair your omelet with a side of crisp Homemade Bacon or Prosciutto-Wrapped Beef Cubes, which will add a salty depth that complements the spiciness of the mustard and chili.

    Ingredients

Serves: 2 Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes

    • ½ teaspoon chili powder
    • ½ teaspoon homemade or Dijon mustard
    • 4 eggs
    • ¼ cup water
    • Cooking fat
    • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

How to Make Mustard and Chili Omelet

Whisk the eggs in a bowl together with the water and season the mixture to taste with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Add the mustard and chili powder to the egg mixture and combine well.

Heat a non-stick skillet over a medium heat, add 1 tablespoon cooking fat and pour ½ of the egg mixture into the skillet.

Use a spatula to stir the omelet gently while it cooks and to allow uncooked parts to run underneath.

When the omelet is set, fold the omelet in half, cover and cook for another minute.

Set aside and repeat the process for the other omelet.
