    Nut and Fruit Balls

The world of snacking has undergone a delicious transformation. Long gone are the days when a snack break meant grabbing something from a vending machine or a bag of chips from the pantry. The modern individual craves snacks that provide more than just a quick fix—they desire food that nourishes and sustains, fueling their demanding lifestyles. Health enthusiasts, vegans, athletes, and everyday snackers alike are turning to a convenient, energy-packed solution that's as versatile and delicious as it is nutritious: the almighty nut and fruit ball.

While nut and fruit balls are a complete snack on their own, pairing them with other foods can enhance your snacking experience and offer additional nutritional benefits. Pair your nut and fruit balls with Homemade Yogurt or a Fruit Salad with Lemon Dressing.

    Ingredients

Serves: 12 Prep Time: 15 minutes and 2 hours

    • ½ cup pecans
    • ½ cup walnuts
    • ½ cup dates, pitted
    • ½ cup dried figs
    • ½ cup dried cranberries
    • ½ cup dried apricot
    • 1 tablespoon orange zest
    • 1 to 2 tablespoon freshly pressed orange juice
    • Cocoa powder, optional, to coat the balls

How to Make Nut and Fruit Balls

Place the nuts, dried fruits and orange zest in the bowl of a food processor and process until finely ground up.

Slowly pour in just enough orange juice to obtain a sticky paste and process everything together.

Form small balls with the nuts and dried fruit paste and place them on a sheet of wax paper to dry for about 2 hours before placing them in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

If desired, roll the balls in some cocoa powder before letting them air dry for a nice chocolaty addition.
