Dark Chocolate Covered Bacon
There are certain culinary alchemies that, when combined, create sheer magic. Ingredients
Serves: 10 Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes
- 2 lbs thickly sliced bacon, cut in half
- 1 lb good quality dark chocolate
- 4 tablespoon coconut oil, butter or ghee
How to Make Dark Chocolate Covered Bacon
Fry the bacon until crisp in a hot pan. Fry in batches if your pan is too small to contain all the bacon slices at once.
Remove the bacon from the pan and pat dry with a paper towel. Keep the rendered bacon grease for future cooking.
Slowly melt the chocolate in a pot with the coconut oil, butter or ghee.
Using tongs, dip the bacon slices in the chocolate.
Place the chocolate dipped bacon on a cooling rack placed over foil or parchment paper.
Let cool for about 2 hours, until the chocolate has hardened.
Serve right away or store in a container in the refrigerator.
